Instagram exited the startup world via the former option, as Facebook acquired the lean and mean 13-person company behind the popular mobile photo app for a cool $1 billion dollars . We haven’t seen a startup acquisition this big since Google acquired YouTube for $1.65 billion dollars in 2006 .
