With Help from Samsung, a Michigan Nonprofit Teaches Timeless Lessons Through Golf

With technology donated by Samsung and CDW, First Tee - Greater Detroit helps young people hone skills on the links and off.

Young people today have a lot on their shoulders as they prepare to compete in an increasingly complex and global future. That’s why it’s more important than ever that they develop good habits, such as hard work and perseverance.

First Tee - Greater Detroit is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help them through the game of golf. “Our kids today are under so much pressure,” says Todd Krieger, interim CEO of First Tee - Greater Detroit. “Learning these things is critical to them being successful, and there’s no game that can teach them these skills like golf can.”

To help with the cause, Samsung teamed up with CDW to donate technology to the organization, including a sophisticated Trackman indoor golf simulator that allows players to play virtually and access data about their game to help them improve. “This technology is truly amazing,” Krieger says. “It’s going to change our program in so many different ways.”
