The birth of Internet browsing for the masses started with Netscape Navigator in 1994. Today, Netscape as both a browser and an Internet company no longer exists.
Despite being a pioneer among web browsers, Netscape couldn’t hang tough with the speed, adoption and innovation brought on by Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox browsers. And in today’s browser landscape, IE and Firefox must contend with search engine giant Google’s increasingly popular Chrome browser.
